LGBTQ Veteran Round Tables
DC is proud of the strength and diversity of our veteran community, which spans five eras of service and four generations. The Mayor’s Office of Veterans Affairs is dedicated to ensuring that all veteran residents of the District are able to participate in our programs and initiatives. To better serve you, MOVA's new lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) veteran outreach initiative was created to help LGBTQ veterans and their families learn about and gain access to the full range of their earned benefits.
The Mayor’s Office of Veterans Affairs recognizes that LGBTQ Veterans can face unique barriers to accessing the services and benefits they have earned as a result of their service. Our LGBTQ Veteran Round Table series is designed to ensure that we create a safe place for Veterans to come and discuss unique challenges related to being a Veteran who identifies as LGBTQ covering things like reintegration, VA benefits, military experiences, mindfulness, and daily struggles.
Like our other veteran round table events, we want to ensure that we are empowering our veteran residents and provide them with a platform to take ownership of their Office of Veteran Affairs.
Our LGBTQ Veteran Round Tables are open to all LGBTQ veteran residents of Washington DC, families, caregivers, survivors, and veteran service organizations. If you care about LGBTQ veterans – you are welcome at the table.
Space is limited, and demand to attend is always high! Please call our office at (202) 724-5454 to reserve your spot at the next round table
