DC Department of Human Resources (DCHR) Announces the Districts Largest Veterans Hiring Event in Partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Veterans Affairs and the DC National Guard

(Washington, DC) – On Wednesday, July 19, 2017, the DC Department of Human Resources will sponsor, in partnership with the DC National Guard and the Mayor’s Office of Veterans Affairs, a DC Veterans hiring event. The District has a strong community of veterans who bring requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to positions in the District government. This hiring event is open to all District, state, federal agencies and private-sector companies that are seeking to hire qualified candidates in the District of Columbia.

WHAT:  DC Hires Vets” will offer veterans the opportunity to apply and be interviewed on he spot for positions with the District of Columbia government. Further, veterans can meet directly with District, state and federal agencies, like the “Veterans Affairs Medical Center,” and private sector companies like “The Home Depot.” Veterans will also be able to attend professional development workshops facilitated by the DC Department of Employment Services (DOES), the Department of Small and Local Business Development (DSLBD) and Monster.com.

WHEN:  Wednesday, July 19, 2017; 10 am to 3 pm

WHERE:  DC Armory, 2001 E Capitol St SE, Washington, DC 20003

WHO:  All veterans in the surrounding areas are invited to attend. The event is restricted to veterans only.

REGISTER: The event is free, registration is available on Eventbrite. All veterans should bring either a DD-214, VA card, or a letter from an assisted veterans’ home for expedited entry. Veterans who haven’t registered may also register at the door.


Any federal agency, private sector company or servicing organization offering services to veterans may complete the following survey, to attend the event free of charge.
