Mayor Bowser to Ask for the Public’s Support to Remove Illegal Guns

(WASHINGTON, DC) – On Monday, July 22, at 11:30 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser will be joined by DC Police Chief Peter Newsham to provide public safety updates and to call for the public’s continued assistance.

On Saturday evening, Mayor Bowser and detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announced that an arrest had been made in the homicide of 11-year-old Karon Brown. The Mayor thanked residents for their tips in the case and asked them to continue to provide assistance to get illegal guns off of our streets and out of our neighborhoods. Residents can provide tips on illegal guns by calling 202-727-9099 or texting 50411.
