The Mayor’s Office on Veterans Affairs ("MOVA") is re-launching a pilot transportation program for District of Columbia (DC) veterans with the Department of For-Hire Vehicles and DOES - DCNetworks. Program eligibility is restricted to veteran residents of Washington DC whos annual income is less than $30,000. Documentation evidencing eligibility may be requested by MOVA. The purpose of this program is to ensure that this population has access to the medical, educational, employment and other opportunities that they require. MOVA prohibits use of the Pilot Transportation Program service for any purpose that is not explicitly authorized by the Program terms and conditions.
Program participants may only use Program rides for the following:
(a)Medical treatment and/or appointments
(c)Employment Interviews or intake with DOES / DCHR. (no commuting to and from work)
Use of the Program for illegal and/or unauthorized activities is strictly forbidden. MOVA authorizes limited ridesharing provided that the pick-up and drop-off points are identical. However, ridesharing is restricted to the following participants:
(a)Other veterans who are also eligible for the Program;
(b)Family members of eligible veterans; and
(c)Authorized caregivers for eligible veterans.
